Ретро рали Варна 2012 г.

At the start line there were 43 cars from different countries such as England, Belgium, Romania, and naturally from Greece and Bulgaria from various cities. 

The event was realized in 3 days having as a center the Golden Sands of Varna. The first day the crews drove North, the second West and the third day South of the city of Varna. The competitor’s had the opportunity to visit museums, archeological places, resorts and enjoy the natural beauty throughout the route of the event, and also to compete in one circuit and 11 regularity tests.

The event had the support of the municipalities of  Varna, Kavarna, Balchik, Devnya, the Thracian Cliffs Golf  and the Mercedes Benz of Varna, giving also awards to the most beautiful cars on the way passing from their places.

The winners of the event are.

• 1. Choudeloudis Ioannis/ Nikolaidis Ioannis with a Porsche 924 of 1981.
• 2. Karoumbas Ioannis/ Papadodimas Ilias with a Fiat 124 Spider of 1971.
• 3. Matsoukis Petros/ Maliaki Maria with a Mercedes 230 C of 1978.

Our Athletic Club announces that in collaboration with the Retromobile Club of Varna, we will organize the 2^nd Interbalkanic Classic Rally from May 31^st to June 3^rd,2012. The crews will have the opportunity to participate in the category Regularity or in the category Tour.............

The M.R.O.E. A.C. realized with great success from March 30^th to April 1^st the 4^th Mountain Classic Rally in central Evia. This event counted in the championship of OMAE-EPA/ETHEA with factor 1.

In the start there were several people from different places of Greece such as Athens, Kozani, Kastoria, Thasos, Bucharest, and Thessaloniki. The event took place in the mountainous and coastal areas of Evia and the crews competed in regularity tests fairly known as the ascent of Ritsona, the ascent of Kimi and other mountainous areas like Steni, Seta etc.

The event was supported by the Hotel Holidays in Evia, which was the mega sponsor of the event, and was under the aegis of the Municipality of Kimi-Aliveri and the Evia Chamber.

The winners are:

2. Vallindas George / Vallinda Fotini with MERCEDES 220 Sb of 1961
3. Palavidis Manos / Palavidi Maria with BRITISH LEYLAND MINI of 1978

   

The 4^th Mountain Classic Rally will be held this year in central Evia from March 30 to April 1^st, 2012. The event will be realized with the support of the Municipality of Kimi and Aliveri and the Chamber of Chalkida.

This event is included in the championship of EPA/ETHEA for historical cars with factor 1..............

The athletic club M.R.O.E. realized with great success from the 10^th till the 12^th of June the 1^st Interbalkanic Classic Rally, the 2^nd event abroad, with the cooperation of the Retro Mobile Club RomanianAt the start in Bucharest, 24 cars departed out of which 18 were Greek participations.The event included apart from the regularity, also tour. We visited the historic city Sibiu recognized by UNESCO along with a visit to the Bran Castle (Dracula’s Castle). Following, we were received accommodation for the night in the renowned ski resort Poiana Brasov. The finish took place on Sunday afternoon in Bucharest after passing by Old and New Brasov, Slanic and Ploiesti.The winners of the rally were:

1.            Kikizas George/Hadios Theodoros with a Porsche Cerrera RS (1972)
2.            Vasilopoulos Petros / Narli Ismini with a Wolseley 16/60 (1964)
3.            Stanciu Gabriel / Ladopoulos George with a Jaguar XK 150 (1957)

3^rd Mountain Classic Rally 19/4 - 1/5/2011

The Athletic Cub M.R.O.E. carried out successfully the 3^rd Mountain Classic Rally from April 29 until May 1, 2011
The rally, having as a center the Hotel Spa Platystomo Asclepius which offered to the winners of each category a free weekend stay at the premises, began from the central square of Larissa and developed to the old Akropolis rally routes in mountainous areas of Karditsa and Fthiodida.. The special stages of the race as Giannitsou, Makryrachi, Smokovo, Tarzan, Tsouka revived good old racing moments.
In the two-hour regrouping that took place on Saturday 30 / 4 in Rentina, Deputy Mayor Mr. Pavlos Stavrou welcomed the crews and toured them in the Museum of National Resistance and the Byzantine Museum.
In the regrouping of Sunday the 1/5 a warm welcome was done from the residents of Tsouka where with the initiative of President Polymeros Dimitris and Gregory Kalopita there were offered to the competitors’ traditional homemade pies, coffee, soft drinks and finally a bottle of raki of their production to each participant.
It is also worth mentioning that throughout the journey by road assistance from INTERAMERICAN was present as always, making the competitors feel more secure.

     2^nd Overall Papadakis Elias, co-driver Papadaki Isabella with a VW Cabrio of 1970 participation from Athens.         
      3^rd Overall Prassas Konstantinos, co-driver Koumpenas George with a Mercedes Benz 200 of 1975 participation from Athens.

Bulletin
The organization committee of the 3^rd Mountain Classic Rally which would take place in central Greece from the 11^th till the 13^th of March has decided that due to the bad weather conditions in the area where the event would take place that the event will be postponed for the 29^th of April to 1^st of May of 2011.

Amazing classic Acropolis routes are included in this year’s Mountain Classic Rally, like Tsouka, Loutra, Retina, Tarzan etc. Everyone that wishes to relive the era when Valter Rerl, Biorn Vaaldergard and Santro Munari were making their way through the Greek mountains.................

The members of "Classic Cars Owners of Istanbul" (IKOD) visited our city with 17 splendid Classic Cars. At the frontier station of Kipi the crews received welcome by the chairman of the Athletic Club M.R.O.E, Mr. George Pontikogiannis. During their stay in our city, they visited the museum of research and technology and also the town hall where they received a warm welcome by the Mayor, Mr. Mpoutari. He proposed also to the clubs to co-organize an event with classic cars between the cities "Istanbul - Thessaloniki".
